Jason Mewes will answer questions, meet fans Feb. 12

Jason Mewes, one-half of the duo Jay and Silent Bob, said that there probably isn’t any kind of question that would make him uncomfortable.

“I share a lot of stuff,” he said. “There’s not much out there that people don’t know or can’t ask.”

Ballet background still required for The Young Canadians’ audition

Parents waited anxiously in the Blue Room of the Stampede Park’s Agriculture Building to hear the results of their young dancers’ auditions with The Young Canadians. They sat at round tables, some chit-chatting away to pass the time while others nervously watched the only entrance-way into the dance studio.

This audition for the Junior Dancers Division was held last Friday for potential dancers between the ages of seven to 11. At 4 p.m. dancers were asked to register, have their picture taken and fill out a form to describe their dance background. Ballet, one of the oldest forms of dance, is a technique required by The Young Canadians for a dancer’s background.

Fire Exit Theatre is presenting a theatre piece and a film as a two-part evening presentation for the first time. Val Lieske, artistic director and founder, describes it as “an evening of scripture.”
